Large palm oil storage operations continuously require thermal energy to keep oil pumpable for circulation and transfer activities. In many facilities, this dependency is still heavily supported by diesel boilers and electrical reheating systems operating for extended hours across storage infrastructure.
However, in large storage tanks, acceptable sensor readings do not always represent actual thermal conditions throughout the full tank volume. Localized colder zones may continue developing near tank walls, stagnant regions, low-circulation areas, and dead zones, increasing viscosity and restricting flow performance.
As oil temperature decreases, viscosity rises rapidly, affecting circulation stability, transfer readiness, pumping efficiency, and overall thermal performance across storage operations. Repeated reheating to recover pumpability can significantly increase diesel and electrical energy consumption while creating higher operational dependency on continuous heating systems.
TFA is a solar thermal integrated industrial thermal management approach designed to support continuous pumpability through improved thermal circulation, more stable heat distribution, and reduced reheating dependency across palm oil storage operations.
By integrating solar thermal infrastructure with existing heating systems, TFA supports:
The objective is supporting more energy-efficient and thermally stable storage operations while reducing dependency on continuous conventional reheating systems.
Operational thermal management for palm oil storage and transfer operations.
