Terminal Flow Assurance

Terminal Flow Assurance (TFA) is a solar thermal integrated industrial thermal infrastructure approach designed to support continuous pumpability, thermal stability, and operational readiness across palm oil and edible oil storage operations.

Large storage facilities often face operational challenges caused by temperature variations within tanks, pipelines, circulation systems, and transfer infrastructure. Even when average tank temperatures appear acceptable, localized cooling zones can develop, increasing viscosity, reducing flow performance, creating transfer delays, and increasing dependency on repeated reheating.

TFA addresses these challenges through a structured thermal management approach that focuses on maintaining more consistent thermal conditions across storage and transfer operations. By integrating thermal storage, controlled circulation strategies, and solar thermal infrastructure, TFA helps support stable product movement while reducing reliance on diesel-fired and electrical reheating systems.

Unlike conventional heating approaches that often react to temperature loss after it occurs, TFA focuses on preserving thermal conditions throughout the operational cycle. This approach supports smoother circulation, improved transfer readiness, reduced thermal recovery requirements, and more predictable terminal operations.

The framework can be integrated into new facilities or retrofitted into existing storage infrastructure, allowing operators to enhance thermal performance without major modifications to core storage assets.
